Texas Winners of Pulitzer Prizes

Since 1955, Texas journalists and publications have received 19 Pulitzer Prize Awards in Journalism. Joseph Pulitzer, a reporter, editor and publisher, established his namesake system of prizes in 1917. He linked it to the Graduate School of Journalism at Columbia, which he had founded. He hoped that these awards would encourage "public service, public morals, American literature and the advancement of education." It is considered journalism's most prestigious honor.

The Pulitzer Prize Web site has complete lists of Pulitzer Prize winners by year of award.

Below are listed Texas Pulitzer Prize winners. If we have failed to recognize any Texas Pulitzer Prize winner, we apologize for the oversight.
