Bois d'Arc
Bois d'Arc is at the intersection of Farm Road 860 and State Highway 19, fifteen miles northwest of Palestine in northwestern Anderson County. In the 1930s the settlement had a church, a single business, a number of dwellings scattered along the road, and a district school. In 1932 the Bois d'Arc school enrolled forty-five. By 1955 it had been consolidated with the Montalba school. In 1985 Bois d'Arc was a small crossroads community with two businesses, a church, and several homes. The population was ten in 2000.
