Christen
Christen was at a site just north of what is now Laredo off Interstate Highway 35 in south central Webb County. The settlement was named for Joseph Christen, who patented land in the area in 1840. The area was gradually absorbed by Laredo, and in 1990 only the Christen Junior High School and a few older homes marked the site of the former settlement.
