Cibolo Settlement, a ghost town on Cibolo Creek in Comal County, was established in 1846, when a road was blazed from New Braunfels to the Pedernales River. Teamsters plying between New Braunfels and Fredericksburg settled in the fertile valley. Cibolo is reported to have been the site of a community school in the 1850s and 1860s, but its fate is unknown.
