Comal

Comal, eight miles southwest of New Braunfels in southern Comal County, is not to be confused with Comal Town or the Comal Creek Settlement. It was established as a community on the Old San Antonio Road in 1846 and became a railroad section station on the Missouri, Kansas and Texas Railroad about 1900. In the 1980s its forty inhabitants farmed, ranched, or worked at a nearby quarry. In 2000 the population of Comal was still reported as forty.
