Dan
Dan, a farming community in northwestern Clay County, developed in the late 1890s when A. W. and George Byers established a settlement on the Wichita Valley rail line. The community remained small; one store and an estimated twenty-three residents were reported in 1940. Since that time no population estimates have been available. The community was not shown on the county highway maps.
