Deer Creek

Deer Creek, named for a nearby stream, is on Farm Road 1883 fifteen miles southwest of Henrietta in southern Clay County. The area was settled shortly after 1900. During the mid-1930s Deer Creek had a population less than ten, but by the 1940s it had an estimated twenty-five residents, two churches, a school, and a business. The population continued to be reported at twenty-five until the mid-1960s.
