Field Creek
Field Creek is on State Highway 71 twenty miles northwest of Llano in the northwest corner of Llano County. The area was first settled in the late 1850s, and a store was built at the site on Trout Creek in 1877. The creek was renamed Field Creek at this time, and the town was named for it. A post office was established there in 1878 with Moses Fisher as postmaster. Field Creek had two cotton gins before 1900. From World War II to the 1980s the population was thirty. The post office was closed in 1976.
