Galilee
Galilee was on State Highway 30 five miles west of Huntsville in central Walker County. It was the first home of the Houstonian Institute for Negroes, which was founded by Samuel Walker Houston and became known throughout the South for its industrial department. The school was eventually consolidated with a black high school in Huntsville. Galilee was a dispersed community in 1990.
