Greenwood
Greenwood, four miles west of Weatherford in central Parker County, began to form in the early 1880s. Residents named the settlement after a live oak tree near their one-room schoolhouse. Greenwood served primarily as a community center for area farmers and ranchers. In the 1980s the only evidence of the community's existence was the Greenwood Cemetery, near Farm Road 3028.
