Lago Vista

Lago Vista is on Lake Travis and Farm Road 1431, twenty miles northwest of Austin in northwestern Travis County. The area was developed in the 1960s as a lake resort; summer homes, camping facilities, and water sports were the main attractions. The community voted to incorporate in the early 1980s with a mayor-council form of city government. Lago Vista's population was reported as 2,500 in 1988 and as 2,199 in 1990. In 2000 the population grew to 4,507.
