Lone Grove

Lone Grove is on Farm Road 2241 nine miles northeast of Llano in northeastern Llano County. Now on the east bank of the Little Llano River, it was originally located on the west in a small grove of pecan trees, for which it was named. Lone Grove was established as a post office in 1876 with John R. Coggin as postmaster. The town was on the stage route between Llano and Burnet. It supported several businesses and a school in the late nineteenth century. From 1941 to 2000 Lone Grove had an estimated population of fifty.
