Lone Star

Lone Star is on Farm Road 906 twelve miles north of Blossom and two miles northeast of Novice in northeastern Lamar County. Local inhabitants had organized the Lone Star School by 1896, when it reported thirty-six White students and one female teacher. In 1936 the community had the school, a business, and a cluster of dwellings. The school was consolidated into the Powderly Independent School District by 1957. The 1983 county highway map showed a recreational facility but no businesses at the townsite.
