Lonsdale
Lonsdale, a farming community north of Nacogdoches in northern Nacogdoches County, was probably established around 1900. The settlement served as a flag stop on the Texas and New Orleans Railroad after it was built through the area around 1903. During the 1930s Lonsdale had a depot and a number of houses. After World War II the depot was closed, and most of the residents moved away. In the early 1990s only a few scattered houses remained near the site.
