Magnolia Point

Magnolia Point, on the northern shores of Lake Houston west of Farm Road 2100 near Huffman in northern Harris County, began sometime before the 1960s and had 250 residences during the 1980s. The community was one of twenty-six "red flag" city subdivisions, named for the red flags developers used to stake out cheap lots along dirt roads. Magnolia Point joined the city of Houston in 1965 but as late as 1984 lacked paved streets, curbs and gutters, and water and sewer lines.
