Midway
Midway, on U.S. Highway 83 at the intersection of the Midway and Suntex roads, halfway between Rio Grande City and Roma-Los Saenz and two miles east of Rosita in southern Starr County, was the site of the county's two dairies in 1966, when it had more than 1,000 dairy cattle. That year the town had a cafe, a service station, a grocery store, and a population of about 300. By 1991 its population had dropped to about 150. At that time the cafe was gone, but a combination service station, wrecker service, and small grocery remained, keeping the Midway name alive.
