Milledge

Milledge was on the Houston, East and West Texas Railway sixty miles north of Houston in eastern San Jacinto County. The locale was shown as early as 1918 on a railroad map of the state. The large number of tram rail lines that extended westward from Milledge deep into San Jacinto County indicates that the area was once the site of extensive logging and sawmilling operations. Much of the land made accessible by these tram roads was either owned or leased by the Texas Long Leaf Lumber Company. Although a few scattered buildings remain at the site, Milledge is not listed among existing Texas towns and communities.
