Muskete
Muskabe was near the site of Chatfield in the northeastern corner of Navarro County. It was probably founded in the mid-1840s and was thus one of the earliest settlements in the county. For many years it was a regional trading center. A Muskabe post office opened in 1848 and operated until 1867. The town apparently began to decline after the Civil War, and by the 1880s it no longer appeared on maps.
