New Bethlehem
New Bethlehem, a farming community off Farm Road 1650 eleven miles southeast of Gilmer in southeastern Upshur County, was established in the 1940s by residents of nearby Bethlehem. A new school was built in the community around the time of World War II, and in the mid-1960s New Bethlehem consisted of the church and the school. In 1990 New Bethlehem was a dispersed rural community.
