New Hope
New Hope is on Farm Road 1226 three miles south of Stamford in north central Jones County. It had two businesses and a population of ten in the early 1930s. By 1940 it had grown to forty residents, but that number had declined to twenty-five by 1980 and remained at that level in 1990. At that time its old cemetery was still maintained. In 2000 the population was nine.
