New Territory
New Territory is a bedroom community located off U. S. Highway 90A, about twenty-four miles southwest of Houston and five miles southwest of Sugar Land, in northeastern Fort Bend County. The subdivision began in 1986 and incorporated green space, landscaping, and lakes as part of its development. Builders also reserved approximately 150 acres for commercial construction. Many residents commuted to nearby Houston. In 2000 New Territory had a population of 13,861.
