Otis
Otis was twelve miles northeast of Clarksville in northeastern Red River County. The tiny village had a post office from 1885 until 1891. According to an 1890 description, the only businesses in the town were a gristmill and a cotton gin. The estimated population was reported as fifty. After the post office was closed in 1891, an office was opened in nearby Negley in 1892, and Otis began to decline. By 1936 Otis no longer appeared on county maps.
