Pine Grove
Pine Grove is on State Highway 87 east of Bull Run in west central Newton County. State highway maps in 1936 showed a cemetery, a business, and multiple dwellings at the townsite on the Gulf, Colorado and Santa Fe and the Orange and Northwestern railroads. In 1987 the town had three churches and a building. The Pine Grove population was first recorded in 1966 as 200. It declined by 1972 to 160, where it remained through 2000.
