Pitner Junction
Pitner Junction is a crossroads community located at the junction of U. S. Highway 259 and Farm Road 918 about ten miles northwest of Henderson in northwestern Rusk County. The settlement, named for its location and for the Pitner family, probably began in the early 1900s. By the 1930s area maps showed homes and a business. A general store operated at the highway junction for a number of years. No population estimates were available until 2000, when the census reported twenty residents.
