Round Mountain

Round Mountain was located in northeastern McCulloch County in the vicinity of Deep Creek between Placid and Mercury. Presumably named for nearby Round Mountain, the community was settled in the 1880s by ranching families. P. S. In 1929 the Round Mountain school consolidated with the Rochelle district. Round Mountain was a voting precinct in 1905 and 1949. The community was not listed on maps in the 1980s.
