Santa Isabel
Santa Isabel (or Isabel) is on Ranch Road 1472 eleven miles northwest of Laredo in southwestern Webb County. The settlement was named for its location on the Santa Isabel Arroyo and was a coal-shipping point on the Rio Grande and Eagle Pass Railroad from 1882 until the early 1930s, when the closing of the mines led to the site's abandonment. In the early 1990s Santa Isabel was a dispersed ranching community.
