Shady Oaks

Shady Oaks is a rural residential community located at the intersection of Farm roads 59 and 753 about six miles southwest of Athens in southwestern Henderson County. The town probably began in the 1960s. No population figures were available until 2000 when the community reported 100 residents. At that time Shady Oaks had a grocery store, volunteer fire department, and homes.
