Spring Hill
Spring Hill was a small community on the Old Georgetown Road eight miles south of Gatesville in central Coryell County. It was established in the 1850s and had a community building shared by the school, the Baptist and Methodist churches, and an all-denominational Sunday school. In 1904 the school had forty-five students and one teacher. Residents of Spring Hill were forced to move when the Fort Hood military reservation was established in the early 1940s.
