Summer Hill

Summer Hill was ten miles north of Athens off State Highway 19 in northern Henderson County. The settlement was evidently established before 1900. In the mid-1930s it had a school, a church, and a store. After World War II the school and store closed, and the church was disbanded. By the early 1990s only a cemetery and a few scattered houses remained.
