Sunrise
The unincorporated community of Sunrise is located off Business Route 6 about two miles south of Marlin in central Falls County. Sunrise may have begun during the first half of the twentieth century. Though the locale was not named on highway maps in the 1930s, a church, cemetery, and homes were shown in the area. In the 1950s the community had a population of 1,616. That figure increased to 1,708 in 1960 but dropped to 1,213 in 1970. The population of Sunrise remained fairly stable into the 1990s, but by 2000 it had declined to 845.
