Swan Lake
Swan Lake is west of Farm Road 1593 and east of the Lavaca River in southern Jackson County (centered at 28°44' N, 96°34' W). The lake is two miles long and a mile wide and drains into Catfish Bayou just east of its juncture with the Lavaca River. Swan Lake did not appear on state highway maps in 1936. It is surrounded by flat to rolling terrain, surfaced by deep to shallow sandy to clay loam and dark, calcareous clay that support mixed hardwoods and pines, some mesquite, and grasses.
