Watkins
Watkins is just off Farm Road 47 and south of State Highway 243 nine miles west of Canton in west central Van Zandt County. It had a school that reached an enrollment of fifty-seven in 1905 and was consolidated with the Canton Independent School District in 1952. State highway maps showed the school, a business, and scattered dwellings at the townsite in 1936 and a town hall and church in 1987.
