Woodcreek
Woodcreek is a primarily residential community located on Ranch Road 12 about fifteen miles northwest of San Marcos and about a mile north of Wimberley in western Hays County. Development began in the 1970s, and by the early 1980s Woodcreek had a country club and eighteen-hole golf course. Citizens incorporated in the mid-1980s and established a mayor and council form of government. By that time construction slowed considerably due to the downturn in the state economy, but by the 1990s the community was recovering, and the population showed steady growth. In 1990 Woodcreek reported 889 residents. That figure increased to 1,274 in 2000.
