Creasy

Creasy was a farming community five miles south of Kennard in southeastern Houston County. It was established around the time of the Civil War and named for early settlers William Harrison Creasy and Mary Elizabeth Johnson Creasy, grandparents of Governor Allan Shivers. In the mid-1930s the community had a church, a cemetery, and a number of houses. After World War II most of its residents moved away, and in the early 1990s only a cemetery and a few widely scattered houses remained there.
