Red Cut Heights

Red Cut Heights is a residential community located within southern Texarkana along the Southern Pacific railroad in eastern Bowie County. The subdivision was probably named for the red clay soils in the area or possibly after the Red River. Construction of homes began by the 1940s, and the 1950 census recorded a population of 2,563. That figure dropped to 563 by the mid-1960s and remained constant through 2000. Red Cut Heights has no businesses.
