River Crest Lake
River Crest Lake, formerly known as River Crest Reservoir, is in the Sulphur River basin seven miles southeast of Bogata in Red River County (at 33°23' N, 95°09' W). The project is owned and operated by the Texas Power and Light Company for steam turbine, condenser-cooling purposes. Construction began on April 22, 1953, and the project was completed in November 1953. This off-channel reservoir has a capacity of 7,200 acre-feet and a surface area of 560 acres at an elevation of 328 feet above mean sea level.
