San Manuel is off U.S. Highway 281 twenty-one miles north of Edinburg in central Hidalgo County. A post office operated in the community from 1925 to 1929. In 1983 the community had a church and several dwellings. In 2000 the population was 958.Continue Reading at the Handbook of Texas
