Twin Oaks Reservoir

Twin Oaks Reservoir is two miles west of Bald Prairie in north central Robertson County (at 31°12' N, 96°28' W). The lake, supplied by Duck Creek, a tributary of the Navasota River, was developed by Texas Power and Light Company in 1982. It has 30,300 acre-feet storage capacity and a surface area of 1,460 acres at an elevation of 400 feet above mean sea level. In addition to Duck Creek, the lake receives the flow of Dogwood, Oliver, and Long creeks. Twin Oaks Reservoir is operated by Texas Power and Light as a cooling reservoir for their steam generating power plant. The surrounding nearly level to slightly sloping terrain is surfaced by loam that supports grassland and post oaks.
