Day
Day, a small agricultural settlement that was probably in central Washington County, obtained a post office in September 1858. The community was most likely named in honor of the county tax collector, John H. Day. In 1860 it had a population of about eighty, including a teacher. The growth of Brenham, Chappell Hill, and nearby Evergreen may have hastened the decline of the community. In November 1866 its post office was closed. No remains of this settlement existed in the 1980s.
