Lost Creek

Lost Creek is an upscale residential community located about seven miles west of downtown Austin in southwestern Travis County. Named for Lost Creek, a tributary of Barton Creek, the development began in the early 1970s with the purchase of land from W. H. Bullard. The 746-acre subdivision grew during a building boom of the late 1970s and early 1980s with the construction of a sewage treatment plant, golf course, and country club. In 1990 the population was 4,095. That number had increased to 4,729 in 2000.
