McCollum
McCollum is a farming and ranching community in northeastern Montague County ten miles east of Nocona on a spur off Farm Road 1956. McCollum developed as a community center in the early 1900s, when D. F. McCollum built a store, a gin, and a mill there. A post office operated at the community from 1901 to 1905. McCollum never reported a population of more than fifty, and the last available population statistics, from the late 1940s, reported fifty residents and two businesses in the community. In 1987 only two houses remained there.
