Prairiedale
Prairiedale (or Prairie Dale) was two miles southwest of Mayfield in north central Hill County. The area was probably settled beginning in the second half of the 1800s. In 1881 a church was founded in Prairiedale, but it later moved to Mayfield as the Mayfield Baptist Church. Prairiedale had one school, which was consolidated along with other rural schools into the Mayfield district in 1912. By the 1930s no trace of Prairiedale, except for the Prairiedale Cemetery, was shown on county maps .
